Fly ash gives the concrete industry an environmentally friendly alternative to cement – one that can actually reduce costs. Using fly ash may also expand the range of products and services the concrete industry can offer. Concrete is traditionally made by mixing water, sand and/or aggregate with Portland Cement. Replacing a portion of the cement with fly ash can produce a superior concrete that is stronger, lasts longer and may cost less than concrete that uses only Portland Cement.
